We are OPEN today! You can still call in orders for the rest of the week. We should be on normal delivery schedule for Thursday-Saturday.
In other news, we got some new aerial pictures of our nursery! For all of those that don’t have the opportunity to come here and see our operation, this is for you! This view is looking at the front our nursery. That’s the Mississippi River behind us.
Starting from the left, is Field 1. That field normally holds large annual crops like Pansies and Violas and specialty items (collection pots, grass, gallon pots, mums). The three long greenhouses directly behind it usually hold specialties such as Poinsettias and Caladiums. The three small houses behind those are the Petunia houses. To the right is the germination house where everything we seed goes to sprout. Continuing on is where most of the vegetables are held. The open fields in the middle right section hold Snapdragons, perennials, and TONS of gallon pots. The remaining open fields are used for Shrubs, Grasses, Irises, Agapanthus, etc. I bet we can all guess what’s held in the extra-protected greenhouses in the back right corner, right? Ferns of course! The buildings in the center are production and maintenance buildings. You can’t see me waving from the office because it’s blocked by the trees. Shucks.
So, that’s your tour of Langridge Plant Sales in a picture! Maybe one day we’ll have a virtual tour for you. I don’t like being on camera, so I’ll have to convince Tony to be your tour guide on a sunny day, but I promise to try and tackle that very soon. If you ever get the chance to come out and visit us, our customers and potential customers are ALWAYS welcome. It truly is an experience to see it for yourself.
